Painterly Effect Intaglio Workshop

IDR 500,000.-/pax

Description

Mixing two classic printmaking techniques in one session.

Drypoint as intaglio technique is one of the oldest printmaking methods, dated to the 15th-century, however through the various centuries the process has remained the same. It’s an acid-free technique where the image is incised into a plate, or a matrix, with a hard-pointed needle.

In contrast, carborundum printmaking is a collagraph technique where the image is created directly on the plate by applying an abrasive grit called ‘carborundum’ mixed with a medium. Once dried, it forms areas of texture or lines which can then be inked using intaglio, relief, or both.

A combination of these two topics makes a whole new experience for curious creatives and printmakers to create awesome prints.

Description

Suitable for Photographers.

This photo intaglio is our modification from the original photo etching technique. Unlike photo-etch, which using acid or chemical to ‘mark’ the metal plate, with intaglio, we try to avoid any chemical or acid process to make it environmentally friendly.

This analog print process is a beautiful option for photographer or artist that would like to print their artworks. Unlike digital print, this process is fully hands-on with human touch on it that makes each print piece slightly unique visually from one another even when it printed from the same matrix (metal plate).

Includes to the workshop:
– Materials & tools to use during the workshop
– Each participant get 3 prints on A3 paper size
– Snacks during the workshop
